The property is ideal for peaceful celebrations and spending time together, but is not suitable for loud parties or disturbing outdoor music late in the evening or at night.
Keys and instructions are sent by email before arrival.

There are no receptionists on site. The key and house instructions will be sent to your email, which we need well in advance before your stay (notify info@palvia.fi).

Kitchen and supplies (Starter pack). A starter supply of basic amenities has been provided for the beginning of your stay: Toilet paper: 3 rolls of toilet paper per toilet (12 rolls in total) as well as paper hand towels and soaps. The kitchen is equipped with 3 rolls of paper towels, dishwasher tablets, dish soap, coffee filters, cooking oil, salt and sugar. Any additional supplies must be purchased by yourself.

Ice fishing and simple rod fishing do not require a separate permit, but lure fishing for ages 18-64 requires a state fisheries management fee.
The fisheries management fee can be paid at verkkokauppa.eraluvat.fi. Do not dig for bait worms in the yard!
In summer, two rowing boats are available.
The lakeside sauna is freely available throughout your stay. Heating takes about one hour.
The separate smoke sauna is available only by advance order and when weather conditions permit.
Do not touch the dampers of fireplaces, stoves or the sauna heater - they must always remain open! Do not remove smoke detectors from the ceiling; ventilate by opening the front doors instead!
Normal firewood use, 3 bags per day, is included in the accommodation price. Additional firewood costs €10 per bag.
Only dry firewood, no rubbish.
The earth oven is located by the shore.
The waste bin is located behind the outbuilding. Please place all rubbish in bags before putting it in the bin.Empty bottles and beverage cans can be left on the ground next to the bin. Please do not put them in with the general waste.If the waste bin is full, please take your rubbish to the local waste collection and recycling point at 604 & Kesäraitti, 42330 Jämsä.
All indoor spaces have thermostatically controlled electric radiators and room-specific air conditioning. The main building and sauna fireplace room also have air-source heat pumps.
Household and washing water in the main building comes from a private drilled well and is clean. Water in the sauna building comes from the lake through filters and is not recommended for drinking.
Only normal final cleaning is included in the accommodation price. Special cleaning required for difficult stains, grease, outdoor litter or pet hair is charged at €55/hour. Bed linen and a sauna towel can be rented for €10/set, or guests may bring their own. Beds must not be used without linen. A laundry fee of €20 per bed is charged if this rule is not followed.
Rubbish, nicotine pouches and cigarette butts left in the yard or nature must be collected into waste bins.
Outdoor music must end by 10:00 PM. After that, loud conversation, shouting and other disturbing noise must also be avoided outdoors. The evening may continue normally indoors. A contractual penalty of €350 may be charged for disturbing noise if lakeside residents make complaints during the night.
Do not throw nicotine pouches or cigarette butts in the yard or nature. They are poisonous to birds and other animals.

Dogs and cats always require prior permission. Pets that shed hair may not be kept indoors. Dog waste must be collected from the yard and placed in the bin. A one-time fee of €30 is charged for dogs.
On departure day:
Appliance manuals are in the lower kitchen cupboards.
Wipe the glass hob with a soft cloth and mild detergent after every use. Dried residue can be removed carefully with the metal scraper in the adjacent drawer. Do not use abrasive sponges, scouring pads or steel wool. Lift pans when moving them to avoid scratching the glass.
Do not place hot pans on tables without a heat mat. Clean pans, pots, grill grates and surfaces after use and return equipment to its place. Collect food scraps and rubbish in bags and wipe grease and food from floors immediately. Grill grates and cast-iron pans must be washed by hand, not in the dishwasher.
The ice-hole pump must remain on throughout winter. Do not switch it off. The water is approximately 1.5 metres deep at the end of the pier. Ensure children cannot access the ice hole alone. Never dive under the ice or allow anyone else to do so.
Outdoor lights switch on and off automatically with a twilight sensor. To disable them, use the switch in the second entrance hall.
Some sockets contain insect deterrents that are harmless to people and pets. A Mosquito Magnet trap operates outdoors throughout summer. Do not move the trap.
Guests staying longer may request access to the washing machine and tumble dryer in advance. Empty the water tank after using the dryer. Read the manuals in the utility room if the machines are unfamiliar.
A weather camera on the west end of the main building views the access road. The camera is switched off while guests are present. During the winter season, please report heavy snowfall so we can arrange for snow plowing if needed.
The large smoke sauna (capacity: 10 people at a time) is heated by the host upon request. Heating takes approximately 4 hours, followed by a 1-hour settling period before you can start bathing.
Before bathing, throw a few ladles of water on the stove to clear carbon monoxide. Ventilate briefly with both doors open and open the air vents beneath the windows.
Pour the steam water slowly rather than throwing it. Use the long-handled ladle, place its bowl on the stones and tip the water as slowly as possible onto one spot at a time. This creates a long-lasting wave of steam.
